Phi Mai History Park is the historical place of Thailand. The outstanding thing of the Phi Mai History Park is the palace that is face to the South which different from the others palaces that face to the East. The serpent king bridge at Phi Mai History Park
If you go to Phi Ma History Park, you will see the serpent king bridge. There is a sculpture of Singha. The handrail was design like a body of the King of Nagas that has seven heads in the same body. The heads of the king Nagas have turned to four directions. You can find this serpent king bridge in front of the south gate.
The arched entrance of Phi Mai History Park Next from the serpent king bridge is the arched entrance or Ko Pu Ra of the Phi Mai History Park which was made from the sand stone. The arched entrances are the same in all sides. There are the wide base of the entrance and the pole for each entrance.You will also see the two blow holes for each entrance.
The cloister of Phi Mai History Park
At each cloister of Phi Mai History Park there was an arched entrance in the center. At the frame of the south cloister there was a stone inscription in Cambodia language that tell the story of Phi Mai City Construction. If you walk from the cloister to inside, you will find the important part of this Phi Mai History Park. There are three pagodas located in the same base. These are the principle pagoda, Phommathat pagoda and red rock pagoda.
If you come and visit Phi Mai History Park you will see the large principle pagoda with the nice texture which was carved from white sand and stack up to 5 levels. On the top of the pagoda it was craved to four Garuda for four directions. Phommathat pagoda was made from laterite while red rock pagoda was made from the red rock sand.
You will also see the Ba Rai pond which was digged for collecting the water for usage. Some believed this pond was for the holy water for the worship.
